مقدمه: شناسایی هوش اخلاقی یک تحول و نیاز اساسی در پرستاری محسوب می‌شود؛ زیرا تبدیل به یک پرستار خوب شدن تنها وابسته به دانش نظری و مهارت‌های بالینی نیست بلکه رشد تجارب اخلاقی در به‌کارگیری دانش و مسئولیت‌پذیری اخلاقی لازم و ضروری است.
روش‌ها: پژوهش حاضر توصیفی از نوع همبستگی بود. جامعه آماری این پژوهش تمامی دانشجویان دانشکده پرستاری و مامایی شهر قاین در سال تحصیلی 1400-1399 بودند که با استفاده از روش نمونه‌گیری در دسترس و با استفاده از جدول گجرسی ومورگان، 180 نفر انتخاب شدند؛ و به پرسشنامه اطلاعات جمعیت شناختی و هوش اخلاقی لنیک وکیل (2007) به‌صورت اینترنتی از طریق شبکه های اجتماعی پاسخ دادند. برای تجزیه‌وتحلیل داده‌ها از میانگین، انحراف معیار و آزمون t تک نمونه‌ای، تحلیل واریانس چند متغیره در سطح معنی‌داری 01/0=α با استفاده از نرم‌افزار SPSS نسخه 25 استفاده شد.
یافته‌ها: نتایج نشان داد هوش اخلاقی دانشجویان پرستاری و مامایی در سطح بالایی بود. بین هوش اخلاقی دانشجویان دختر و پسر، تفاوت معنی‌داری وجود نداشت (05/0<p)، اما بین هوش اخلاقی دانشجویان برحسب تأهل و سن، تفاوت معنی‌داری وجود داشت (01/0>P).
نتیجه‌گیری: ارتقای هوش اخلاقی دانشجویان می‌تواند در تأمین سلامتی‌شان مؤثر باشد. این امر توجه بیشتر متصدیان و برنامه ریزان دارد چراکه دانشجویان به‌عنوان نیروی کار آینده با ابعاد هوش اخلاقی بالا نقش تأثیرگذاری در ساختن جامعه بااخلاق و سالم ایفا می‌کنند.
