depends on their mental health. This study determined the effect of a spiritual intervention based on the GHALB SALIM model (GSM) on the self-efficacy and resilience of nurses in special hospitals of Shahrekord University of Medical Sciences (SKUMS).
Methods: This quasi-experimental study included 80 ICU nurses from Hajar and Ayatollah Kashani hospitals of SKUMS, selected via available sampling. Participants completed demographic, self-efficacy, and resilience questionnaires virtually at the beginning of the program. The spiritual intervention, based on the GSM, was delivered through an 18-session program (16 virtual, two face-to-face). Questionnaires were completed before, immediately after, and three months post-intervention in both groups. Data were analyzed using SPSS software, version 24, with independent t-tests and analysis of covariance.
Results: The self-efficacy level changed to 65.70±7.30 and 67.18±6.39 immediately and three months after the intervention, respectively (P<0.01). The test group’s mean baseline resilience score was 70.65±9.20. It changed to 72.28±11.10 and 77.73±9.95 immediately and three months post-intervention, respectively (P<0.02).
Conclusion: GSM-based spiritual intervention effectively strengthens self-efficacy and increases resilience among ICU nurses. Utilizing such models can enhance nurses’ performance and the quality of patient care, particularly in intensive care settings, by supporting their mental well-being.
